TreeView ("we," "us," "our," or "the Extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our Chrome extension.

Data Collection

TreeView collects and stores the following user data:

• ChatGPT Conversation Messages: We capture message text from your ChatGPT conversations to organize them into a tree structure visualization. This data is stored only on your device in Chrome's local storage.
• Authentication Tokens: For Pro users, we store authentication tokens to maintain your login session and access premium features like message summarization.
• Tree Metadata: We store conversation tree structures, node summaries, and layout positions to persist your visualization across browser sessions.
• Node Summaries: AI-generated summaries of your messages (created by GPT-4o mini) are stored in your tree structure.

Data Storage

All data collected by TreeView is stored locally on your device in Chrome's local storage. We do not send your conversation data to external servers, with the following exceptions:

• Authentication requests to our servers for user verification and Pro features
• Message summarization requests to OpenAI's API (using your own API key or admin key)

Data Usage

Your data is used solely to:

• Visualize and organize your ChatGPT conversations
• Generate summaries of your messages for better tree node titles
• Maintain your tree structure and layout preferences
• Provide Pro features to authenticated users

Third-Party Services

TreeView may use the following third-party services:

• OpenAI API: For message summarization. Your messages are sent to OpenAI only for the purpose of generating summaries. Refer to OpenAI's privacy policy for their data handling practices.
• Vercel: Hosts our authentication and API services. Refer to Vercel's privacy policy for their data handling practices.

Data Security

We take data security seriously. Your conversation data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers without your explicit action (such as authentication or API calls). However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. If you have security concerns, please contact us.

Data Deletion

You can delete all TreeView data by:

• Uninstalling the extension from Chrome
• Clearing Chrome's local storage for the extension
• Using the "Delete Tree" button within the extension for individual conversation trees

User Rights

You have the right to access, modify, or delete your data at any time. Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over your information. You can export or delete your data directly through the extension.

Children's Privacy

TreeView is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware of such collection, we will delete the information promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date of this Privacy Policy. Your continued use of TreeView following the posting of revised Privacy Policy means that you accept and agree to the changes.
